Day 23 and Day 24 (21st and 22nd of the 8th month) - Regroup and move out!!

We spent our next day in Calgary 'regrouping', we had our complementary buffet breakfast at the hotel, Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal etc. etc, you get the idea. After brekky we returned to our room and continued to sloth around like a couple of bears that are ready for hibernation. Jo had not slept well last night so she grabbed a couple more Z's, while I started to scope out our trip to Montreal. Being the completely loose, rebel travellers that we are we haven't yet got our accommodation for our week long stay in Montreal!! I know starting to live on the edge! I guess you will have to wait to find out whether Mitch and Jo get accommodation in Montreal?? (please read in bold and the beautiful style narrator voice)

Our only real task for today was to return the hire car to the airport, which we did with flawless perfection. (geez, really struggling to pad out this day, um, so who likes politics??)

After returning the car and regrouping a little more we went to a hotel across the road for dinner. Now this Thai restaurant was very highly acclaimed on Trip Advisor and Yelp (Yelp is a foodie sort of app, reviews and maps etc.) However, the hotel in which the restaurant was situated would have made Alfred Hitchcock cringe. Anywho, not to bother seasoned travelling foodie types like us, off we trotted across the road and into the hotel and trying not to inhale, down the hallway to the Thai restaurant. It turns out we were very lucky to get a table, in-fact we later saw people without reservations being turned away. The food was very delicious, we had a; Papaya salad, Beef Massaman Curry and Green Chicken Curry. The Papaya salad was amazingly tasty but very spicy, I have never seen Jo drink a beer and 16 glasses of water so fast!!

Day 24 and it was 0429 (MDT) and we were up and atem' (cool way of saying 'at them'). Today we are heading to Toronto to see Eddie. We had a good flight from Calgary (YYC) to Toronto with a local budget Canadian airline called WestJet, they were comparable to our Jetstar.

4:30 start!
Arriving at Pearson Airport, Toronto (YYZ) we made our way through the airport and grabbed our bags off the carousel and through the doors to see a very smartly dressed, swarve and sophisticated gentleman holding a hand-written sign that read 'Bro n Jo', no ladies and gentlemen it wasn't a chauffeur driver of a high class limousine company, it was none other than Eddie Bilborough - the illustrious King of Toronto!!

Welcome to Toronto
We headed back to Eddie's Pad (house not tablet) through the very busy streets of downtown Toronto. On arrival we got the quick tour off the establishment and a meet and greet with Eddie's roommates, Eric and Don. Eddie's Pad is really cool, it is in a complex of townhouses in a suburb called Liberty Village which is within walking distance of downtown Toronto and from his very cool rooftop terrace you have a great view of the CN Tower.

Eddie had rugby training at 6, so he dropped us at the local supermarket where we grabbed some food for dinner. We cooked a very delectable butter chicken with veggies and in true Eddie Bilborough style he ate his way around the 'green stuff' (zucchini). After dinner we watched a bit of telly before retiring to bed. Special mention to Ed for giving up his bed for us and for buying us brand new sheets, i can only assume buying new sheets was easier than washing his existing set.
